Some people around us were sitting, others were jumping out of their seats, but it really didn't matter to me. I was at a Britt Nicole concert, the other day, with my mom. It hit me that I was just one person in a crowd of hundreds or thousands of Christ followers there. Wow... One person in a crowd of millions can still have a unique worship experience with the God of the universe, one in a crowd of millions can still be known, not only by name, but by the depths of their heart! I could hear Psalm 8 echoing in my mind, Lord what am I that you are mindful of me? I am but a speck of insignificant dust in the grand scheme of history. I won't be remembered for anything great or special, yet He takes the time to constantly commune with this dust! Is that humbling or what?
Simultaneously, I was in awe of another of God's traits- provider of all. My birthday was November 7th, and I wasn't expecting any gifts. God had a different plan. As I opened the box, to see $200 sitting neatly atop wrapping paper, I could have burst into tears, but then I was told to remove the tissue paper beneath. I found myself holding a doughnut box containing over 2000 dollars! My heart jumped, as it was flooded with excitement and love.
"Some of this has to be fake!" I remember myself saying. There was not a chance that an ordinary girl like me was in the presence of all that money. Not a chance was an ordinary speck like me in the presence of the King of Kings!
So, there you have it folks: God used people like you to provide over 2000 dollars! (ENOUGH TO FUND THE REST OF MY TRIP!!) And though your financial contribution is so appreciated, it was even more fun to see the names, faces, and stories attached to the money! Happy birthday indeed!
